CON LOS OJOS

Ilustraciones para el cuarto disco de Julián Marchante. Belén Fourment lo describe así: Julián Marchante es de los mejores cancionistas uruguayos de su generación, pero el hecho de que se haya radicado en Buenos Aires hace algún tiempo (y antes en España) lo hizo distanciarse de la escena montevideana, con la que poco a poco se está reconectando. Por suerte, porque cada disco que edita viene superando al anterior y contribuyendo a una identidad que, en el flamante Con Los Ojos, está más lograda que nunca. Marchante abandona la imagen de cantautor y se reacomoda como folclorista latinoamericano y moderno apoyando sus versos sobre el ritmo, construido a partir de su toque de guitarra, de la batería y la percusión y del bajo. Con los ojos está lleno de sutilezas y de pequeños detalles a descubrir, sea en arpegios que se sueltan como chispazos o en los susurros de una voz que tiene mucho para decir, y que lo hace con buenos versos y una propuesta interesante, que conmueve y refresca. // 2017 //

Belen Fourment describes it this way: Julián Marchante is one of the best Uruguayan songwriters of his generation, but the fact that he has settled in Buenos Aires some time ago (and earlier in Spain) made him distance himself from the Montevideo scene, with which he is slowly reconnecting. Luckily, because each album that she edits comes surpassing the previous one and contributing to an identity that, in the brand new Con Los Ojos, is more successful than ever. Marchante leaves the image of singer-songwriter and re-arranges as a Latin American and modern folklorist supporting his verses on the rhythm, constructed from his touch of guitar, of the battery and the percussion and of the bass. With his eyes he is full of subtleties and small details to discover, be it in arpeggios that are released as sparkles or in the whispers of a voice that has much to say, and that does it with good verses and an interesting proposal, that moves and refresh. // 2017 //
